After failing to reach the playoffs in each of their first nine seasons of existence, the Texans have won the AFC South each of the last 2 years, finishing 10-6 in 2011 and a franchise-best 12-4 last season. In both instances, Gary Kubiak’s team opened the playoffs with a win over the Cincinnati Bengals, only to fall in the Divisional Round a week later. Still, with one of the best running backs in the league in Arian Foster as well as plenty of talent elsewhere, this team remains in the Super Bowl hunt.

In 2012 for three quarters of the 2012 season, the Texans looked like the best team in the league. Kubiak’s club won 11 of its first 12 games and by all indications was going to be the top seed in the AFC playoffs. But quarterback Matt Schaub slumped down the stretch and injuries on defense became a factor. But Foster led the NFL with 17 total touchdowns, wide receiver Andre Johnson caught 112 passes and defensive end J.J. Watt totaled 20.5 sacks on his way to NFL Defensive Player of the Year honors.

In 2013  winning a third straight AFC South title might not be so easy for a Texans’ team that saw the Colts make major strides a year ago and the Titans and Jaguars busy this offseason. But the franchise added three key additions this offseason via free agency in the form of fullback Greg Jones (Jaguars), premier punter Shane Lechler (Raiders) and last but not least, Super Bowl XLVII champion safety Ed Reed (Ravens), who’s totaled 70 career interceptions during the regular season (61) and postseason (9). They loss fourteen games in a row ended the season in disappointment. But because of huge fan following Houston Texans Tickets were hard to get.

In 2014 first season under head coach Bill O’Brein they improved their 2-14 record by ending it at 9-7. They came second in AFC South Divisional place but were not able to qualify for the playoffs. Team is looking ahead under their new head coach and fans are anxiously waiting for Texans to get into the playoffs.
